In a civilised society, the Police as the last line of defence should not be allowed to be tarnished, ridiculed or shamed in any form or manner. And of course the Officers are expected to behave above board. But when the agents of protection becomes the tool of oppression, something has to give. The unprotected must device a form of defence. What I know clearly from the days of playing soccer at a young age is that the best form of defence is offence. While my heart goes out to all the slain and their families, the rest of us should be mindful that nobody has exclusive right to violence or else chicken will always come back home to roost. Half a word is enough for the wise. Just thinking out loud.
